About Me

Temitope Ogunbanke, an award winning journalist and media relations’ officer, hails from Ala-Ijebu in Odogbolu Local Government Area, Ogun State. He had his primary education at St. Peter’s Anglican Primary School, Ala-Ijebu between 1987 and 1992. He emerged as the best student in the Common Entrance Examination and had his post primary education at Ijebu Southern District Grammar School, Ala-Ijebu. He studied for a National Diploma in Mass Communication at The Polytechnic Ibadan, Adeseun Ogundoyin Campus, Eruwa (AOCE) between 2003-2005. In his pursuit for excellence, Ogunbanke studied and graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta in 2008. During his academic programme, he distinguished himself among his colleagues. He had the highest bylines in his department with over 100 bylines in The Comet Newspaper (now The Nation newspaper) during the 2014 SIWES programme. While in ND II, he served as the News Editor, Polyrays Newspaper and later the Managing Editor of Polyrays Magazine. Both publications were published by his Alma-Mata, Department of Mass Communication. He was also the Editor of the AOCE News, a newsletter publication of the institution. Base on how Ogunbanke distinguished himself during one-year Industrial Training at New Age Newspaper with over 500 bylines, he was employed by the organisation in 2006. After working some months, he returned to school for higher qualification by gaining admission into Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta. While in Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Ogunbanke served in following positions in the Mass Communication department: • Editor-in-Chief, Corporate Mirror Magazine (March–June 2007) • Chairman, Editorial Board, MAPECHO Newspaper (July–December 2007) • Managing Director, Creative Plus Advertising Agency (August–December 2007) • Deputy Editor, Community Echo Newspaper (April–August 2008) • Contributing Editor, MAPECHO Newspaper (May–June 2008) •Editor, SUG Magazine (June–September 2008). During his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) scheme in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Ogunbanke served his nation passionately as English Language and Commerce teacher at Nawfia Community Secondary School between August 2009 and July 2010. He was also a member of the Publicity Group and Vice President of Tourism Club. Since the commencement of his professional training at The Polytechnic Ibadan, Ogunbanke had covered many major events and attended seminars and conferences in virtually all areas of reporting; be it business, political, sports, entertainment, human interest, women, children, education, religion, among others locally and internationally. This enviable profession, journalism, has enabled him to cover many national and international events and interviewed prominent world and Nigerian leaders and it is of note too that he had taken primary role in information gathering, editing and production in all the media organisations he has practiced journalism. He is a Member, Nigerian Union of Journalist, (NUJ) and Graduate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, (NIM) among others. Apart from being a practicing journalist, Temitope have also held several leadership positions in schools and churches to contribute his quota to church growth and development of his society. He is happily married to Opeoluwa, a graduate of Mass Communication from The Polytechnic Ibadan and the marriage is blessed with two children.
