THE Nigeria Centre for Disease Control last night confirmed 184 fresh COVID-19 cases as Lagos and Jigawa states announced the discharge of 33 patients.
Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Badaru Abubakar confirmed the discharges.
According to the NCDC, 51 cases were recorded in Lagos; 23 in Jigawa; 16 in Bauchi and Katsina; 14 in Kano and 10 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Rivers respectively.
Others are: Kwara (nine); Delta and Kaduna (five each); four each in Sokoto and Oyo; three each in Kebbi, Nasarawa and Osun; Ondo (two) and one each in Ebonyi, Edo, Enugu, Anambra, Plateau and Niger.
The agency put the national tally at 4971, discharged patients (1070) and recorded deaths (164).
Announcing the discharge of more patients from the isolation centers in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu said 26 patients – comprising 13 males and 13 females – , have fully recovered and tested negative twice consecutively.
The patients, all Nigerians were discharged from Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba, Onikan Isolation Centre and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
Six of the patients were discharged from IDH, 11 from Onikan and nine from LUTH.
“With this, the number of #COVID19 confirmed cases that have been successfully managed and discharged in Lagos is now 528,” the governor said.
In Dutse, Abubakar said his administration’s effort was yielding positive result.
He said: “So far, seven of our patients have been recovered and discharged including the six years old minor girl.”
